Html /Java Text Coded Links

Hi,
I am new at affiliate advertising and having a problem trying to use html or java text coded links for my advertiser ads and banners. Every time I try to use the coded advertisement text links in my contents the hosting sites mostly seem to only use single URL links. Is there a way where I can make a html coded text link into just a URL link and still have the link to open a new browser window. Is that what you call link cloaking? I am just starting an affiliate website and have been accepted by advertisers from both CJ and Link Share. I have contents written up but would like to add the text links in with my contents for customers to click on my advertiser sites and still be commissioned on sales etc...
I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Hi Carol,
I use a php redirect for most of my links not used for ppc, its pretty simple and works great...create a php file in the web editor of your choice. Put this code only, in the php file
<?php header( 'Location: http://affiliatelink.com' ) ;?>
replace http://affiliatelink.com with your affiliate link, then save the file as anything you like, upload it to your webhost and there ya go. so if you named the file offer.php your link would look like this if you put it in the root folder: http://mysite.com/offer.php
If that doesn't work for you, there are a couple other threads on link cloaking on the forum. Just do a search. Also, jeremy's software, optimise my site will make link cloaking super easy as well as track all your data. hope that helps
