New Site Live!

Jeremy Palmer's picture

It's been a long week, but the new site is finally live!

Here is a quick overview of some of the changes:

-New design
-New community features
-New content
-New search features
-RSS Subscriptions for site content

The primary benefit of the new site is that it is completely interactive and community driven. With a single login you can participate in the forums, comment on the blog and other articles, and communicate with other members.

I'll soon be publishing the 2008 version of "Quit Your Day Job - A Blueprint for Affiliate Marketing Success" on this site. This new publishing platform will allow me to update the book more easily and frequently.

I have some exciting things planned for the site, which I'll be revealing more about on Monday. I'm doing a quiet launch so that I can spend tomorrow working out any outstanding bugs and issues with the site - make sure you contact me if you see any :)

All the best,

Jeremy Palmer

Hi Jeremy,

the new design looks great! Easy to navigate and gets clearly to the point. Good to see that forum is back.

One thing, is it possible to remove captcha for the registered users? I think it's unnecessary, isn't it?

Captcha Configuration

Thanks for the feedback on the Captcha. I think you're right - it doesn't make sense for registered users.

I didn't see an option in the admin panel, I may have to hack it so it doesn't prompt registered users. I'll add that to the to-do list for this week.

Hey, congrats. I've seen you grumbling on twitter about your drupal work, though I didn't know it was QYDJ. Nice work.

Thanks - I think one of these days I'm going to sit down and write a "dummies" guide for Drupal. It's very powerful, but the learning curve is too steep for most.

Alternative to captcha

As someone who purchased your book and recently recommended it on Aaron Wall's SEO membership site, I am delighted to see that you switched to Drupal for the site.

Dries, the founder of Drupal, has unveiled a new service called Mollom that is a great alternative to using captcha. You may like to try it: www.mollom.com

I thought about using Mollom, but I was a little hesitant to run beta software on a production site. His approach to spam is different than most, and may be more effective. I'll probably try it out in a development environment before going live with it.

Yes, that's probably a good idea:-)

It has undergone rigorous beta testing in private, so it should be fine. It's also being used in production sites right now - the home page gives your current stats at the bottom.

Site looks great
